Biography
Suranga Silva D.A.C. is Professor in Tourism Economics at the University of Colombo and Founding Coordinator of the Sustainable Tourism Unit. With a PhD in Tourism Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, he has authored numerous books, journal articles, and policy papers. His research interests include sustainable tourism, tourism economics, destination management, and tourism policy development at national and international levels.
Gayathri Puwanendram graduated from the University of Kelaniya and is Lecturer in Tourism and Chinese Language at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a visiting Lecturer. She is reading for her Master’s in Tourism Economics and Hotel Management at the University of Colombo and has authored several book chapters, research articles, and conference papers. Her research interests include eco and community-based tourism, heritage tourism, tea tourism, sustainable tourism, wellness tourism, gastronomy tourism, and beyond.
Baghya Erathna is the Head of the Department and Lecturer in Hospitality and Tourism at SLTC Research University. She is currently reading a Master's in Tourism Economics and Hotel Management at the University of Colombo and has previously authored numerous book chapters, research, and journal articles. Her research interests are regenerative tourism, tea tourism, gastronomy tourism, and community-based tourism.
Kulasekara K.M.B.S.Y. is Instructor in English at the University of Peradeniya and the Coordinator of the English for Geography course. He completed a postgraduate diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management at the University of Colombo in 2021, and is a former Travel Executive at Nkar Travels, Colombo. He is a multidisciplinary researcher with an interest in tourism, social issues, and education.
Krishantha Ganeshan is a Hotelier, Researcher, and English Language Instructor with over ten years of experience in the hospitality industry. He is currently a Front Office Executive at 98 Acres Resort & Spa. His research focuses on tea tourism, gastronomy tourism, sustainable tourism, and heritage tourism, with several publications in reputable publications.
